The Hat is Coming Back

Disney has  announced the return of Mickey's sorcerer's hat to Hollywood Studios in 2026. I feel so much joy at this news. I hadn't realized how much I missed the iconic symbol in the park. Thinking back, it brings up a specific memory (pictured above) of my son when he was much younger sitting on a bench with the hat in the background. Hollywood Studios is our favorite park and holds a special place in my heart. 

We are Star Wars and movie fans, so the vibe suits our interests. I also adore the unique shopping boutiques. I bought my first pair of ears there. Don't get me wrong, I adore Runaway Railway and the Chinese Theater, however, the visual of the hat is pure Disney and Mickey. It fills me with the magic I love so much. 

The Tower of Terror is another iconic attraction at Hollywood Studios. As far as buildings go, neither the Chinese Theater nor the Tower of Terror are the equivalent of the castle at Magic Kingdom, Spaceship Earth at EPCOT or the Tree of Life at Animal Kingdom. The Scorcer's Hat offers a more similar iconic symbol to the park, even in a smaller representation. It is a nod to an earlier version of a park that has evolved to include some immersive, yet diverse experiences in Galaxies Edge and Toy Story Land. 

It will be located at "The Magic of Disney Animation" attraction which brings it to a new level of excitement. I have participated in the drawing classes at California Adventure and although I am a terrible drawer, I love the experience and find it so interesting as the characters take shape on the page. 

The whimsical nature of the hat brings me joy and conjures images in Fantasia. I can’t wait to see it represented again!
