Disney Dry Spell
Only in my dreams for now
Posted August 14, 2024
Y’all, I haven’t been to Disney since March and my September trip has been postponed. Sound an alarm! I am officially experiencing withdrawal symptoms. I don’t want to read about the latest updates. I am not even able to bring myself to fake book trips for fun.
There is a new Lightning Lane system replacing Genie+. Exciting things are happening! Except for me.
I am wearing my Mickey shirts and jewelry out of habit, hoping it will turn my Disney downs back into my Disney devotion. I have been very spoiled the last few years with having multiple trips in a year and visiting both coasts. I knew this day would come. The day when Disney takes a break from me. Our relationship never has seemed one sided, but perhaps it is a case of unrequited adoration.
No! I can’t believe it, that can’t be true. Disney must be missing me. Main Street is calling, Storm Troopers are hunting me in Galaxy’s Edge, lions roar for me in Kilimanjaro’s safari, and Everybody Wants to Rule the World is cued up on Guardians Cosmic Rewind.
I am grateful for my Magical Vacation Planner clients. Planning for them keeps me living vicariously my Disney dreams. For now, Amy Dreams of Disney is as close it gets for me.
I shall prevail! It is time for Disney CPR. Cue the Disney parks playlists, turn on Disney+, make some Mickey shaped food and have a drink out of that Mickey cup. It’s totally fine to wear Mickey ears around the house, right?!?
The actual question is how long until my next trip. Will there be another one in 2024 or will I be stranded until March 2025? Send me some magical Disney vibes to get me through. Better yet, reach out on Instagram and give me tips on making it through a Disney Dry Spell.
